We’re proud to have a top team of certified, professional drivers here at RJC who take pride in their work and providing the best service to our customers. Whether it’s as a grab wagon driver or road sweeping operator, everyone plays their bit in the business.
In our new series, we’ll be showcasing those that make up #TeamRJC.
First up, is Dan!
- What’s your role and how long have you been part of the RJC Team?
I’ve been a driver/operator for RJC for the last 4 years. Before that I was a JCB driver and originally trained as a tank operator in the Army.
- What does a typical day look like for you?
My day to day role involves working on highway maintenance, so fixing roads and pavements, sometime road cleaning across the Leeds district. I work as part of a team with Leeds City Council.
- What’s your most memorable day/event that sticks out from your time with the company?
I think when we did a drive through Church Fenton during the lockdown to support Clap for Carers. We worked throughout the pandemic and it was a time when you really could feel the local community spirit coming together.
- RJC is a proud Yorkshire company, what do you love most about living/working in the county?
I’m born and bred in Selby and live there now with my wife and son. For me, Yorkshire’s greatest strength is definitely the people.
- Your hidden talent is…
No hidden talent, but I did used to love playing rugby, especially League but a shoulder injury stopped me from becoming professional – that’s my excuse anyway ???
