The RJC Fleet

Grab hire

To provide our range of plant services, we have several different types of vehicles that make up our growing fleet here at RJC. The RJC fleet travel 100s of miles each week across Yorkshire and the M62 Corridor.

From road sweeping, to grab hire, tipper trucks and maintenance vans, we currently have 18 vehicles on site and all driven by a qualified team who have CSCS, NPORS, Drivers CPC, and driving licenses for Class 1 or 2 vehicles.

Looking after the vehicles

To ensure our fleet is operating as effectively and efficiently as possible, we often have at least one vehicle in the workshop at any one time being serviced by our team mechanic. A six-week maintenance rotation ensures we are continually checking over the vehicles to optimise their performance.

Ian and Warren are our two service men who look after the fleet and they also have a mobile workshop van which goes out to site to help with small vehicle jobs such as fixing a bulb to changing a wheel at the roadside.

All the trucks are cleaned inside and out every week with the team taking pride in their vehicles. We stop short of giving them all names though!

The fleet

Over the last 18 months we have been busy replacing a number of our older vehicles to more environmentally friendly Euro6 wagons which are more carbon efficient.

We have a number of vehicles that are on permanent lease to Leeds City Council, with several of our drivers working with the team to repair footpaths and roads.

The three main vehicles the team make use of every day include:

  • Euro 6 Sweeper:  Scania and DAF brand, carry up to 15 to 18 tonne gross, 6 wheels
  • Grab Truck: Volvo brand,  carry up to 32 tonnes, 12 tyres
  • Tipper Truck: DAF brand, carry up to 18 tonnes, 6 tyres on small tippers

If you are looking for grab hire, road sweepers, Tipper wagons, aggregates, muck away or topsoil for a construction or landscaping job in Yorkshire, please get in touch for the team for a competitive quote and professional service.
