A week in the life at RJC

No week is the same for the team at RJC Plant Services. Here we give a little insight into the kind of activity and jobs involved over the course of a week.

Monday

It’s an early start for several of the crew who support a council maintenance team with road sweeping, cleaning roads throughout the city centre ensuring they are safe for commuters as they begin their working week.

Back at base we have a number of new enquiries that have come through for grab hire services and aggregate supplies. Lots of our work does come from word of mouth and recommendations which is always really appreciated. Other enquiries come from finding us on Google or seeing us on social media. We have also developed strong relationships with businesses and organisations we have worked with over many years.

Tuesday

We have several grab trucks out this morning for hire. One is collecting groundworks from a landscaping job and dropping off topsoil, another is helping a driveway company clear the muckaway and another is clearing away a large amount of fly-tipped rubbish from a local farmers land to be disposed of legally and safely.

After a busy day yesterday, today both directors Chris and John get chance to have a catch up with one our new starters and find out how they are getting on and enjoying the role. Every member of the squad plays their part in the continued success of the business and it’s important they feel valued and part of the team.

Wednesday

Today we have a senior managers team meeting, including with the agency who support us with our social media and marketing. As a growing business we know how important it is to ensure our clients can find us online, our website and social media is up to date and performing well.

As a business we love to give back and support those in need. We’ve really enjoyed organising initiatives like the Random Act of Kindness of afternoon teas to 50 elderly residents of Church Fenton and 1000 meals to two dog rescue centres. Today we’re talking through ideas for our next community campaign – so keep your eyes peeled!

Thursday

A team of roadsweepers are working nights this week supporting a road surfacing team.  Lots of our jobs involve working closely with other companies to ensure the successful competition of the task in hand. We recently had another job helping a council team create flood defences as local river water levels rose to dangerous levels. Great teamwork from all involved.

Friday

After a busy week, Friday is a good day to get the fleet looking spick and span. Our new yards person does a grand job getting them looking clean and ready for the next week.

We also have a new truck that is being branded up ready to join the fleet, and our 6-man welfare unit is back in for a clean before it heads off out again to another site.

As we offer services that are available 24/7 we do often work weekends and this weekend is no different with a number of the team out supplying grab hire services across Yorkshire. No rest for the wicked ????

If you need grab hire services, road sweeping and aggregate supplies across Yorkshire please do get in touch.
