What a year 2022 has been!

If you’d have told us at the end of 2021, what this year would include, for the most part we’d have never have believed you…

Alongside celebrating our 8th year providing grab hire, road sweeper and muck away services in Yorkshire, this year has also included some fantastic highlights.

It’s not been without its challenges as a result of the pandemic leading into record breaking energy price hikes, a cost-of-living crisis and war in Ukraine.

However, we’ve continue to grow the business, welcome new team members and clients, and support communities and charities in need.

Here are just a few of the highlights from a jam-packed year as we look back at 2022:

The Highlights

  • February – Random Act of Kindness Day:

In celebration of Random Act of Kindness Day we surprised teachers at the Kirk Fenton Primary School with an Afternoon Tea party. We love our community and are proud to be able to give back when and where we can.

  • May – First Female Apprentice Joins the Team:

We were delighted to take on our first female apprentice Neave from Wakefield College. She has been a brilliant addition to the mechanical team and look forward to seeing her career progress within the industry.

  • June – Total Warrior Challenge:

The lads got their sweat bands out in the summer taking on The Total Warrior Challenge to raise funds for The Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Even though it’s been a tough time for many, we managed to raise hundreds of pounds for the life-saving charity! Well done lads!

  • July – De-Fib Donation:

It was an absolute pleasure to provide a new defibrillator for the residents of Church Fenton. After a scare with one of our employees last year we wanted to make sure others could get access to the life-saving kit. Our donation meant the village now has access to three defibs for medical emergencies!

  • August – The One Show:

This month we had a visit from Britain’s strongest man, Paul Smith and his film crew, who came to the yard on the premise of creating content for his website! Little did we know if all a ruse to surprise us with a One Big Thank You from The One Show. A brilliant, emotional day with family and friends coming out for the big reveal. We even had some special messages from rugby legend Jonny Wilkinson and Paddy McGuinness!

  • October – BBC Radio York Make a Difference Awards:

We had a fantastic day attending the BBC Radio York Make A Difference Awards we were nominated in the ‘Good Neighbour’ category! As a finalist it was a pleasure having opportunity to celebrate with so many worthy nominees doing North Yorkshire proud – including Church Fenton’s Community Shop!

  • October – Foodbank Donation:

We were pleased to be able to donate £500 worth of selfcare items to our local Selby and District Foodbank who were in desperate need of support for their service users. Often these items are overlooked as donations. Project coordinator Cheryl said the items would make a huge difference to so many people really struggling at the moment. Glad we could help!

  • October – Top Gear Filming:

October was a busy month as we had the amazing opportunity to go watch the filming of Top Gear as a result of our appearance on The One Show. As specially invited guests of Paddy McGuiness, we were in the inner circle! We got to get up close with the three presenters and see some impressive cars too! You can catch a glimpse of our smiling faces across three episodes of the latest series!

  • November – Website Refresh:

As we’ve continued to grow and develop our grab hire, road sweeping and muck away services across Yorkshire, we felt the time was right to give our website a spruce up. The new site is a great showcase demonstrating everything you need to know about RJC Plant Services.

That’s  a wrap…nearly!

And, that’s almost it! As the year comes to a close, we can safely say 2022 has been packed! The team has continued to do us proud, providing plant hire services to councils, contractors, farmers, landscapers and local residents across Yorkshire.

We couldn’t do everything we do, without the support of a great team and look forward to seeing what 2023 has in store!
